Double Dragon II, a side-scrolling beat 'em up, continues the story of Billy and Jimmy Lee fighting the notorious Black Warriors gang. Released for the Game Boy in the USA and Europe, it maintained the core gameplay of its predecessors:  two-player cooperative action, a wide variety of punches and kicks, and progressively challenging stages.  While the graphics were necessarily simpler than its arcade counterparts, the portable version successfully captured the essence of the franchise's brutal and intense combat. The game was developed and published by Technos Japan.
