Pocket Monsters Gin (Japan) (Rev A)
Pocket Monsters Gin, released in Japan for the Game Boy Color, is one of the earliest installments in the globally popular Pokémon franchise. As a Game Boy Color title, the graphics were relatively simple compared to later entries, utilizing the system's limited color palette. Gameplay revolved around capturing, training, and battling various Pokémon creatures. The objective was to become the Pokémon champion by defeating gym leaders and ultimately challenging the Elite Four. While the core gameplay is similar to other Pokémon games, differences exist in the available Pokémon, the regional map, and some gameplay mechanics. This version, along with its revision A, showcases the origins of the Pokémon craze, and its influence on the game design of future generations.
